Day 2 brought a blizzard to Kansas and very chilly temps to Florida! It seemed like the whole nation was having cooler-than-usual temps. We were in for a pretty chilly week at the beach, with gusty winds and red flag warnings for most of the week (even a couple days of double red flag, which meant no getting in the water at all).
Nothing wrong with slow mornings!
See the little blob right by the water? That's the men and kids building sandcastles and burying Isaac!
When it got too windy and cold to be on the beach, we found the perfect spot...the heated pool & hot tub! Most of the pool was in between condo towers, so it was blocked from the wind. With the sun shining, it was actually very nice! And the water was very warm, so the kids didn't mind swimming. You can see the red flag in the background. That meant rough waters and it wasn't advised to be in the water. We had many days with Rip Current Statements, meaning there were dangerous rip currents. From our condo balcony, Aaron could show us exactly where the rip currents were...it was pretty amazing to see the power of the ocean like that!
These kids didn't really care if it was windy and cold, they had fun playing in the water!!
LOTS of football was played!
It was warm enough for a few walks down the beach looking for seashells.
Most evenings were too cold for a walk on the beach, but Anna convinced us to go one evening when the high was 43...every other evening the high was in the mid-to-low 30s!
The moon was so bright that we didn't need flashlights.
That's the moon! Wild how bright it was, especially reflecting off the clouds.
Another day down, enjoying God's beautiful creation!
