Anna-isms

Our foster son (my cousin Seth) eats supper with us most evenings (he's not taking classes this semester so no meal plan...we took pity the second we heard his plan for eating was PB&J and EasyMac!!!). He loves to play with the kids and he loves to razz Anna. Reminds me SO MUCH of my dad--always teasing and pestering. And Anna, JUST LIKE me, always takes the bait and hollers! :) But, Anna loves him anyway.
Yesterday afternoon, Seth was playing with the kids in their bedroom. Anna was hootin' and hollerin' about who-knows-what, running in and out of the bedroom. She kept telling Seth she was going to take a nap and Seth kept telling her that she wasn't. Just to show him, she went and got her little satin sleep mask. Next thing I know, she runs from the bathroom to her bedroom door with that mask in her hands like a sling-shot and yells (while in a battle stance):
THE BATTLE IS THE LORD'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, we all roared with laughter. This girl...I just love her!

Anna-isms!

I haven't been very good about writing down the funny/cute things Anna says (and she has a lot of them!). Someone just asked me if I wrote these down, after hearing a story about something she said. So that reminded me to do so!

The other night, when Aaron was putting the kids to bed, Jacob was fighting it (shocker!). He wasn't laying down. Aaron told him if he didn't lay down he was going to get a swat. Of course, Jacob didn't lay down. So he got a swat. Anna turned over and said,

"That oughta do it Dad."

Grandpa & Grandma W have a tradition of giving Anna an angel ornament every year. After she opened this year's angel, she carried it around. After a while, she said,

"Mom, this angel is really special. Do you know why? Because it reminds me of God. When we get home, I'm gonna hang it up in my room so I can remember about God."

PRECIOUS!

One of these days, I might have some posts titled "Jacob-isms" but I have a feeling that will be a while. It is pretty funny to ask "Jacob, do you want to open presents?" He yells "YEAH!!!!!!" :)

Anna-isms

Daddy, Seth and Ben (my cousins--sorry fellas!) are losin' their bangs.

Do you think I'll ever lose my bangs?!?

Anna-isms

While swinging:
"Mama, I need to turn my brain on."
Then she poke herself on the head and screamed
"Okay! It's on!!"
*I'll try to get some pictures posted tonight.*

Anna-isms

Telling Daddy why she put a clippie in her hair:

I put this in my hair so I can be stylin'.

The adults giggle. She turns to me and says:

Mama, what's stylin' mean?

Last night, stalling sleep:

Mama, there's a hot spot right here on my forehead where my bangs are touching me.

(I gave her a trim and bangs *gasp* last night)

*blogger is being not smart right now and a post I had done w/ Labor Day pics is gone (I'm not telling WHO did that!) and now it won't let me load pictures onto the post. WHATEVER!!*

Anna-isms

I have a terrible memory, so I thought I'd better "write" this down somewhere before I forget!
Tonight as I was reading the rest of Cindy Ellen (the western cowgirl version of Cinderella), Anna said something really funny. Here's the part I read:
*as Joe Prince is coming to the ranch to find the cowgirl whose boot fits the "left behind" diamond spur...*
"Go shovel out those corrals!!" hissed Cindy's stepmother.
Anna: WE SHOULD SHOVEL HER OUT OF THERE!!!!! SHE'S NOT VERY NICE!

And this girl...she's all about being nice. Unless her little brother swipes her crayons or stuffed animal or book or...... :) She cracks me up.
