He's still big!

Jacob had his 15 month check up today (a little late b/c they both needed to have their ears checked after their infections). He's still officially big! :)
He weighs 29 1/2 lbs., which is the 96th percentile
He's 32 3/4" long, which is the 88th percentile
And his noggin is 19 1/2" which is the 97th percentile!
He's been consistent since birth--highest in head and weight. He's such a stinker. The doctor said developmentally, he's about a month ahead of the game. So Aaron was reassured that there's nothing wrong with him (since he still rarely walks and says about 4 words!) Other than our names, he says Dora (ha!) and up. But he's only said up to Binga--he won't say it to anybody else! He's super stubborn. I KNOW he could say more and walk a LOT more, but he just doesn't want to--and yes, Dad, I don't make him. ;) haha

Still loves wheels. He rarely pushes a toy around. Almost always, he flips it over and spins the wheels.

Anna took this picture. He's always missing a sock these days. He kicks his shoes off, and loses at least one of his socks many times a day! I need to find something that he can't get off!!! I'm also really lucky, b/c I have a guarenteed 15 min. (usually 30 min.) of shower/get ready/whatever time if I turn on Dora. The kid will sit in the exact same spot and watch the whole show. But only Dora. Let me just say that I'm so glad we have DVR! It allows me a shower every morning!!! :)

Anna only weighs 3lbs. more than Jacob! The nurse told her she better start growing faster or Jacob will catch her. I don't think Anna can grow fast enough! I'm sure by his 2nd birthday he'll be bigger than her.
She is such a hoot. Strangely enough, she's always asking to go swimming (nevermind the snow that was on the ground most of the day today!). I think now that it's really cold, she understands that she can't go swimming. Maybe she decided to pretend to go to the beach this evening?? She's weird, that's for sure! I love watching her imagination at work :)

The results are in...

First off, I had my numbers wrong...he was 25 1/2 lbs. at 9 months. Jicks, I was with you--30lbs. We were very wrong! He only gained a little over a pound! 26.8lbs. (91st percentile) BUT he grew over 2 inches!!!!!!! He's in the 95th percentile for his height and 99th for his head! He's always had a kind of big head, but he's evening out on it now :) I think that means he's going to be really smart! I have some really cute pictures of him and Hudson, and some interesting ones that Anna decided to take (she actually does a really good job!), but I'm too tired to post any tonight. Maybe tomorrow...
And Jicks--it HAS to be the from our husbands' side! Nobody on my side had such big babies!!! I think Toby is going to out-do Jacob though! Gracious, he's a big boy!

Holy Toledo!

That's exactly what I said (rather loudly I'm afraid!) when I saw this cucumber in the garden!!! Those things are really hard to see! The leaves are so huge and the plant has gotten so big and spread out, that I have to get in there and dig around to look for cucumbers (and zucchini, too)--and those plants are prickly and itchy! We'll be having it tonight in a salad, along with a tomato we got today and some sauteed zucchini :) Anna already ate the strawberry I picked this morning (I don't think we'll ever get enough strawberries--that kid (Jacob too) eats them like there's no tomorrow). Oh yes, and one of the tomato plants is so big and heavy that it BENT the metal stake and fell over! Aaron had to use a long rope and 3 wooden stakes to keep it upright!! Anybody want some tomatoes???That's Aaron holding the cucumber--it's as long as my forearm and almost as big around!

The proud mini-gardener :)

And well, I can't not post of picture of Jacob ;) His sister decked him out in the nice necklace. It was actually a pretty handy teether. haha His hair is getting long in the back. He'll have to have a haircut before long! :( My baby is growing too fast! Did I mention that the outfit he's wearing in this picture is 2T? Good gracious. That boy better start walking LONG before his sister did!

The stats

It's official...he's still big :) And the doctor said he's working on at least 2 more teeth (wonderful...he got 3 in at once last time and worked on them for 2 months!!). I didn't mention that he's been eating table food for a couple of months already. He just refused to eat the baby food anymore, and the only table food he'd had up to then was just crackers so I don't know why he quit eating the baby food. "Healthy as a horse" he said. Pretty fitting analogy, I'd say! I put an 18 month romper outfit on him this morning--it was too short!!! He's also behind on his immunizations, so he had to get shots today (normally they don't have any at 9 months). When I told Anna last night that Jacob had to go to the doctor and get shots, she got pretty upset. "Dat's MY brudder!!!". I explained to her why he had to get shots, and then she was okay with it. But then when he started crying, she started getting upset again and told the nurses "Hey! Dat's MY brudder!!" Too precious. We're all good now :) Jacob took a couple of fairly decent naps this afternoon and pretty soon we'll head up to watch Daddy play softball.

Oh, so here's his "stats"...

Height: 29 1/2" -- 90th percentile
Weight: 25 1/2 lbs. -- 92nd percentile
Head: 19" (his head didn't grow as much as the rest of him, which is fine b/c he had a big head before!)
