Picture Overload!

I'm finally getting around to putting some pics on here. I hate not editing them!! :) We've been busy already this summer!

The VBS program was last night. The kids did SO GOOD!! I can't believe Jacob stood up there as long as he did. I couldn't see Anna through all the heads. I can't get the videos to download to my video site straight from my camera :( but he was so cute singing the songs and doing the actions!!
After the ridiculous meltdown we had before leaving, I'm surprised she was happy and cooperative! She did great, though. The theme was "Egypt Files".

He's not a baby anymore!! :( Such a big boy. So proud of him!

THE set:) It took forever and a day, but I think we did an amazing job using partitions, sheets, paint & colored duct tape!! :)

Oh my. We've had so much rain in the last two days. Over 6" Saturday evening/Sunday morning and I don't know how much last night. We are SO GLAD we put the sump pump in last year! The electricity went out for about 20 minutes yesterday evening and the water immediately rose to shin level under the house! Thankfully Ben & Seth were here so they helped bail it out while we found our neighbors and hooked up to their generator. The pump has been going off every 8-10 seconds since Saturday night! And the forecast doesn't look any better for the next week or so. Poor farmers--the wheat was a few days from being ready to cut and then all this rain!

Playing with rose petals.

Whoops...it's sideways! Anna can now "carry" Jacob! ha!!

My roses are blooming!!!

Random, photo-less post

Still no computer, but at least my computer-genius dad is going to fix it for us! So I have no pictures for you. I apologize because I don't like to read blog posts without pictures! :)
Things are getting busy around here. We spent last week in Iowa (see Cassie's blog for videos!) and had a great time. When we have cousins together (even when it's just 3 of them!), it makes me wonder what things were like when all of my cousins got together at the farm...it had to have been chaotic, but I don't remember it being that way as a kid! I'm sure the parents have a different story!!
This week started VBS at our church...with an Egyptian theme! Anna and Jacob are in the same class with their favorite teacher Kim! She has her hands full with all those 3-5 year olds!!! Sadly and oddly, the skit at the end of day 1 (that all the kids go watch) really scared Anna. Evidently there was a robber with a mask in it and she had horrible nightmares last night. She's had bad dreams before, but I've never heard her scream like she was last night. And it's not just at night. She walked by her room this evening (wasn't dark yet but the light was off in her room so it was dark in there) and she ran crying back to the living room because the rocking horse looked like the robber's mask. And then during baths she started crying because she couldn't stop thinking about the robber. Poor girl! So we talked about how God can take away the scary things in her mind and that He's always with her and all she has to do is pray for His peace. And I read her the verses in Philippians about being anxious for nothing and thinking on things that are lovely. So far tonight, as long as I'm right beside her she's fine. She's stirred around several times and kind of awakened but looks at me and goes right back to sleep. Hopefully this passes soon...she hogs the bed!! I think Jacob was even having some bad dreams last night, too. Anna said the skit scared him, too. He's been sleeping good so far tonight (spoke too soon!). They skipped VBS today because they both got so little sleep last night.
I had another appointment with my OB this week. When she tried to get the heartbeat, baby was moving around so much that she could hardly get it long enough to get a read on it! It was funny (and hard not to laugh and keep my belly still!). It was so loud, all the swishing around. I'm pretty sure I've felt baby move a few times this week, too!! I can't wait until baby is big enough for the kids to feel movement. I know Anna doesn't remember feeling Jacob move, so it'll be really fun this time! I'm finding that I have to take it easy already with things. :( I'm only 4 months! But at least baby and I are healthy. Next month we get to have the big sonogram and find out boy or girl! I still think girl, but I think Aaron is still thinking boy. We shall see! I'm sure we'll be doing another name survey...we've talked about girl names and can't agree on one!
We'll soon be heading to Colorado to see Aaron's family. His brother and family are moving overseas to his next station!! We're so glad things worked out for us all to see them before they move.
Then we'll hopefully be at Aunt Cara & Uncle Terry's for harvest! Anna is so excited (so is her Mama!!) and Jacob will be once he sees the combine and tractor:)
Then July will be here and Anna's party. I can't believe my baby is almost 5! She's growing up way too fast. Kindergarten already!! *sigh*
Alright, I better get to sleep. Nothing better than falling asleep to a thunderstorm!

What an exciting week!

We had an exciting week last week! And it's not ending any time soon!!! We spent the week at Papa & Binga's with all the cousins. And this week is just FULL of excitement! We brought Kaedyn back with us for the week, Grandpa Wallman is coming to visit for a couple days, and THEN we're going to Iowa again for VBS!!! Anna is beyond excited about that. They both kept asking when we were going back to Iowa for Bible school, so I finally put things up on the calendar! The excitement is almost unbearable! Even Kaedyn is excited about Grandpa coming (I think she's met him once?? Big first impression Grandpa! ;)). So here are a few pictures from last week and so far this week. I don't have many of these week because, well...I've been busy with 3 kids! Kaedyn and Anna have actually been getting along great so far (I know...ONE day!). But I'm proud of them for how well they played together today. All sorts of cooking and party hosting and princessing!

We picked up a baby swing to put on the swingset for Jacob. Uhhh....he LOVES it! The higher the better:)

We had a looooong trip home. We didn't leave until after 4 pm. The kids did great considering we got home at midnight! We had to make a detour in Salina to pick up Aaron's car, so it took longer than usual. And they only slept in til 8:30! But they all 3 took really good naps today:)

Jacob was King of the Crib in Iowa! Good grief.

While the girls were away, this is what the men let happen to the babies!!! Just kidding. They played in the water and well, Papa didn't know there's such a thing as "swim diapers"! haha This was also a night time diaper that he put on him, so it really held the water!!!

Look at that thing!!! I think the diaper probably weighed over 10lbs!

The poor kid could hardly sit or walk in the thing and nobody noticed it until I said "HOLY COW!!!" when I saw Jacob. HA

The girls had a water fight with Daddy/Uncle Wally. I'm not sure who won!

Uncle Jamie is still crazy!!! As Jeremy & Alisha were leaving, he decided to tag along for a bit on the scooter (one of the scooters we got as kids...in like 1990!)

All the moms said "Kids, DO NOT TRY THAT. EVER!" haha
Except Mom...she just said "Jamie Lee!!!" :)

VBS Blast Off!

Anna's VBS program was tonight! She did such a good job with all the songs and actions! She had so much fun and is a little disappointed that there won't be another program tomorrow!!! The pics aren't very good :( The lighting wasn't great and I was at the back of the sanctuary, so my flash didn't do a lot of good. Oh well!

Anna and 2 of her classmates (I think she was the only girl??). Jake was night and day between this morning and tonight. This morning, the kids got up and sang a couple songs during church (Anna refused to go up there). Jake was HILARIOUS! He was so cute and everybody was just rolling. Tears were streaming down my face I was laughing so hard. He was 2 beats late and loud on the words and the actions, he fell down once, and he was just glowing and having so much fun. It was precious to see! Tonight...he just stood there. Didn't sing, didn't do the motions. It was funny.

Best friends! :)

The big kids (and Pastor!) did a hilarious skit at the end. It was quite entertaining! :)
And here's a montage of Anna singing. Sorry it's a little shaky! I had to zoom all the way in, so the tiniest movement seemed like I was shaking the camera! Isn't she just too cute?! ;)

They're Growing Up Too Fast!

My babies aren't babies anymore! :( Time just flies by so quickly.

For the last couple weeks, I've been putting Jacob on the potty chair before bath time. Until tonight, nothing has come of it (except some hilarious rounds of Patty Cake!). Tonight, I put him on the big potty with the little seat on top. That seemed to work better for him. Anyway, I went out to get something from the living room, and when I got back I saw the evidence of his accomplishment!! :) I ran (literally!) to get my camera (duh!) and...what else? Skittles! If you're worried about my child starving, just look at the last post! haha

Yea for Jacob! (You see the gap btw the little seat and the big one? Bad spot for a gap!!) I don't think he really knew what he did, but oh well. It's a start. Summer is a great time to potty train!

------------------------------------
This week is VBS at our church. I volunteered for the nursery. Turns out it was just Jacob and the other Anna and our neighbor girl! 3 hours in a very small nursery with three 2 year olds is WAY.TOO.LONG! So I asked the other mamas if they minded me keeping the little tykes at my house for the morning (our church is about 8 mi. outside of town). This morning went MUCH better than yesterday morning! The kids had lots more room to roam and lots more to distract them from missing their mommy! It was a rough start, but it got better quickly and we had lots of fun.

Jacob: Mom, are you serious? Aren't there any BOYS we can have over to play?!
Girls: Hehehe........

My girl is getting so big!!! She's going to VBS this week and is SO.EXCITED!!!!!!! She's having so much fun and just can't wait to go every morning. Last night at supper, she realized she would be going every day. She got so excited!
You mean I get to go EVERY SINGLE DAY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
This pic is from her first day. Too soon I'll be taking her "first day of kindergarten" picture!

Maybe I'm crazy...

Well, maybe I'm crazy...2 nights ago was a HORRIBLE night for both kids sleeping-wise. They were both awake numerous times (I think they just kept waking each other up). Anyway, last night I told Anna that if she slept all night long and stayed in her bed and didn't throw a fit about going to bed, that she could sleep in her tent tonight. She's been asking to sleep in it all week. Lo and behold, she slept all night last night! So tonight, she'll be sleeping in her Dora tent on her Dora couch with her Dora spinning globe light (do ya think she likes Dora???). She was sooooooo excited! We got it all set up before I put Jacob to bed (okay, so he's still not in bed either--he got just as excited as Anna did! ha) and she crawled in there and just went on and on about how great it was going to be to sleep in her tent. "Mama, dis is just amazing!" HA! The kid's a riot.

On another note, I've been meaning to post about this and keep forgetting (mostly b/c I never did get any pictures of her at VBS earlier this month). She learned her first Bible verse! It blesses me clear to my soul to hear my precious 3 year old recite a verse! It's Genesis 1:1 and she says it perfectly (and still does!). The cutest thing is that when she says the reference, she says "Genesis 1 by 1"! Too cute! Okay, that's all for now. We gotta get these kids in bed so Mommy & Daddy can watch a movie and go to bed (if we don't fall asleep during the movie! We're so old)! I've got some really cute pics of Anna and her new friends from the wedding we went to tonight. I'll post them tomorrow (maybe...).
