Boots & Tractors

Today was a lazy day. But it was decent out so this afternoon, the kids played outside! Jacob has some "new" cowboy boots (thanks Jake!) He loves them. And I love seeing him wear them! So cute.

As soon as he saw me with the camera, he stood up and said "eeeeeze!" :)

He had to bring his tractor out, too.

I told Mom & Dad this boy was born for a farm! :) I'll have to post the picture I took this evening. Proof positive :)

Anna wasn't in a very good mood today. Even after a nap, she was a bit grumpy. She did NOT want to go outside (they were still in their pj's after naps. hey--it's Saturday!!). I picked out some clothes for her to wear, but she didn't like them. Then she couldn't find the right t-shirt to wear under her sweatshirt. After close to 15 minutes, she finally came out wearing...

...new pajamas and her boots!!!

A friend gave me these boots for Anna when she was a baby. They used to be her daughter's and I'm so glad Anna can wear them (she wore them last year a few times, but they were still a bit big). I love them. Evidently, so does she! :)

Fun Outside

Yesterday was gorgeous. A perfect day for playing outside!

One of her favorite things to do with Papa...MOW! She likes to wear her headphones because the mower is very loud.

Jacob, however...not so impressed with the mower! Even though it had wheels, I think the noise was just a bit much. So we sat on the porch and watched. Every time they came by, he frowned at them. It was as if he was saying "Listen here! That's too loud and you need to stop it!"

Papa's painting helpers! Papa & Binga tore out their old (small) porch and built a very large one. Binga made ingenious painting smocks from old pillowcases.

Jacob thought he was hot stuff. Especially since he learned a new word! I'm posting a video next, so you'll have to watch it to find out his new word:)

Latest Potted Plants...have you seen these??

Have you seen these latest potted plants?! They're crazy! The plant I got is redish in color, very big and will only get bigger (might have to get a bigger planter!), and takes lots of water and food to keep it thriving. This plant is definitely an outside plant and loves the warm weather and sunshine. You should check your local garden center to see if you can find one (good luck...I've heard the one I got is one of a kind). They're a great addition to your landscape!

Haha! :) He did this all on his own!! And he sat there for quite a while digging in the dirt and throwing it out. Hey, he was contained...I didn't care!

Pictures Galore

It was another absolutely beautiful day today. We spent as much time outside as we could! Anna actually asked to go inside once because she was too hot! ha So here are a LOT of pictures from today...I got a little camera happy.

He has no fear. He tried to walk down the steps yesterday...without bending his legs. Yeah, he fell off the deck. Good grief. And no, he's not biting his tongue...he's licking his snot! I got a tissue after I took his picture...a few times. Ahem.

So handsome in his cool outfit from Binga! I love him in those cute Polo's. :) (he has pink eye so his left eye is all yucky and swollen. poor baby)

Crumbs, crumbs, crumbs!

Okay, this was hilarious! I was playing his "imitate my face" game and he did something really funny. I threw my head back and laughed. I guess he thought that was part of the game because then he started doing it! It was so funny!!!

She just had to push him around in the stroller (he likes to climb up in there and just sit). So I turned the stroller around and took the brake off. There she goes. I look up 5 seconds later (I really wish I would've taken a picture!) and I see Anna on the ground with her foot in the air holding the tipped-back stroller up!!! Jacob was making known his displeasure by some scream/grunts. It was so funny. That stroller is super light, so it didn't hurt Anna. Needless to say, though, she didn't want to push the stroller anymore!!

Loving the weather

We've had some really nice weather recently and the kids have LOVED being able to play outside!

Jacob got this cool trike for Christmas from my brother & his family. It's awesome because you can attach a handle and push it around! Every once in a while, Jacob gets a little crazy with the steering (which is a riot to watch!), but all you have to do is tip it up a bit and it's easy to steer yourself. He love-love-loves it!

Their faces are just hilarious here! Anna is racing:) She is really too big for her trike (that my other brother and family got her for the FIRST birthday!) but her little legs go 90 mph racing around on that thing! A friend had her birthday party tonight and she got a new "big girl" bike, so Anna might be persuaded to try one out come summertime. Maybe.

Anna brought supplies :) She was cooking and feeding her baby.

Jacob found a wheel...a really BIG wheel! :)

A couple grunts...I think he was telling me how awesome that great big wheel was.

A future helper for Papa?? He would lean over and peek under the van. It was really cute.

Anna loved the step ladder. She would climb up and pretend. Painting, talking, looking for mysteries (she had to have the lights off too!)...you name it! She's still carrying that big, heavy flashlight around. I think the batteries are about dead!

Beautiful Day

Today was gorgeous!!! This morning, Jake came over to play! They had so much fun. For lunch, they made their own mini pizzas. (they were Lunchables). FYI--they taste weird! Jake downed them in about 3 minutes! He'll eat just about anything!! :) Anna & Jacob did not like them. I tried a bite...they taste funny. Anyway, they had fun!

This afternoon, Anna & Jacob had fun outside, again. It was warmer. I think it got up in the 70s today! Anna was explaining to me why she couldn't go play. Something about having a stomach ache.

Jacob is walking a lot more every day (yipee!!). He'll even walk in the yard!

Yeah, he ate dirt. GROSS! And he seemed to like it for some reason.

He was playing peek-a-boo under the grill cover! He is so ornery.

He was playing "catch me if you can" after his bath last night. He found a sticker on the floor and wore it around the house in his birthday suit! haha

Yeah this was at 12:30AM! The other night, he would NOT go back to sleep. He woke up around 11:30 and it was 2am before he was back in bed. Ugh! He was happy, but I wanted to go to bed!!!
