Fun At The Farm

We've been busy! After getting home from Binga & Papa's house, we headed out west to visit my family. We had a special reception to go to for a good friend, so we spent a few days out there visiting. It was fun! First up is the farm:)

I love seeing my kids play with in the same house I remember playing in (and some of the same toys!). I'm glad my camera has a good zoom and I caught this PRECIOUS picture of Jacob and Great Grandma Mary!!

Grandma Mary has always gotten down on the floor and played! I loved going to play at her house!! And Anna does, too:) She's got great toys in that hall closet!

Grandpa Elmer and Jacob sat at the table for a LONG time and played with the play-dough (that Grandma made! How fun is that?!).

This is the same table I sat at and played with play-dough (different chairs, but same table!). So much fun was had at that table (and still is!)

Anna's "rock stack wall"...whatever that means! :) FYI...she isn't growing a mustache--she had some grape juice!

Jacob playing with Mama's snowman. Mr. Snowman survived longer than I thought he would! haha Jacob has finally stopped trying to eat play-dough! Whew!! Now he just picks little pieces off and piles them up.

All that great play wore him out! He took a really long nap! We all had so much fun! Thanks for playing with us Grandpa & Grandma!!

The rest of the pictures from our trip will have to wait. We're heading to Colorado! :)

The Things She Says

I just wanted to post something hilarious that Anna said a while ago. It's raining, again, so Mom & I were trying to get the kids to play in the basement (where there are hundreds of toys!). They stayed down there for all of 2 minutes and then started back up. We told Anna the toys had to stay down there and they needed to stay down there and play (otherwise they just sit around the family room getting on each other's nerves and complaining!). Jacob kept climbing up and Mom and I just kind of ignored him and told Anna she had to stay down there. She kind of huffed and said "Well, I guess it's my problem now!"

Playin' in the Rain

Before we get to the rain pictures, I had to post this one. He is just like his father!!! :) Seriously, the TV is like 50-some inches and he sits a foot away and has to practically break his neck to look at it! I tell Aaron that there's no reason for us to ever get a big fancy TV because he'd still stand a foot away (with Jacob by his side) and watch it! :)
------------------------------------------
Okay, now for the rain! Papa had to quickly pull some debris out of the gutter on the porch while it was raining. Of course, anything Papa does, Anna wants to do too! And if somebody is outside, Jacob wants to be outside too! So they all three played in the rain. Jacob wasn't so sure about it. He pretty much just stood in the corner, under the eaves and stayed dry!

He loved to smash his face against the door and talk to me.

Papa was about to get him!

Anna didn't care if she got wet this time! She was running around and splashing, having all kinds of fun.

See...Jacob preferred to stay right there in the corner!

A mad dash to the mailbox!!!!

"Hurry Papa!! The mail's gettin' wet!!!"

I'm such a dingbat! I just spent 45 minutes downloading (seriously?? why on earth does it take that long???) the SAME rain video I ALREADY POSTED. Good grief. I swear I'm losing my mind more every day (be quiet in the peanut gallery!!). I'm going to bed!

New Word & Playin' in the Rain

Here's the video. You have to listen carefully for his new word! :) And it started raining this afternoon, so when Papa came home, they played in the rain! I'll have to post some pictures later...Papa & Anna RAN to the mailbox!
They're having fun...as always!

Fun Outside

Yesterday was gorgeous. A perfect day for playing outside!
Anna The Queen practicing her roping skills. She said "I'm gonna capture you!!!"

One of her favorite things to do with Papa...MOW! She likes to wear her headphones because the mower is very loud.

Jacob, however...not so impressed with the mower! Even though it had wheels, I think the noise was just a bit much. So we sat on the porch and watched. Every time they came by, he frowned at them. It was as if he was saying "Listen here! That's too loud and you need to stop it!"

Papa's painting helpers! Papa & Binga tore out their old (small) porch and built a very large one. Binga made ingenious painting smocks from old pillowcases.

Jacob thought he was hot stuff. Especially since he learned a new word! I'm posting a video next, so you'll have to watch it to find out his new word:)

Catch Up

I've got a bunch of pictures that I haven't edited yet and a bunch I haven't posted. I guess I'm catching up from a couple weeks ago when I didn't take any pictures! :)
Here are some pictures from a park trip. Anna loves the horse swing and climbing up the dome. Jacob loves the swing and the swing!

She figured out how to "push" herself and also how to stop! :)

At both of the parks that have "baby" swings, they have this bar across that is just in a really bad spot. I mean, Jacob is a big boy--much bigger than most 2 yr. olds--and these bars are way too high for him even. In this picture, he's lifting himself up a bit to see over the bar. It's weird. He still loves to swing, though!

Climbing, climbing, climbing!

At the top with Daddy!
---------------------------------------------
This past weekend, we celebrated Hudson's 1st birthday!! The kids had a lot of fun playing and really enjoyed Hudson's toys:)

Jacob LOVED this toy. It blows the balls up through the top and Jacob quickly discovered that he could stuff a bunch of balls in at once and then they'd come flying out the top!

He played with this for hours (literally)!

The Birthday Boy! He wasn't so sure about the whole "dig into the cake" thing. He did end up with cake ALL over him, but it took a while :)

Anna and my cousin had fun coloring. I was 16 when Heather was born and I well remember having lots of fun with her (and her older brother and sister!) and babysitting:) It was so nice to not be worrying about where Jacob had run off to, because Heather and Raylinn were taking care of both of them! :):):)
----------------------------
Then the kids and I came home with Mom & Dad. Anna got sick right before we left (sorry Jamie & Cassie!!!!) and stayed sick almost the whole way home. About halfway she finally quit throwing up and slept the rest of the way. Poor girl. She is all back to normal today! I sure hope Jacob doesn't get it. I've got a bunch of other pictures from today to edit and really cute (to the mother!) video to post. Better sleep though :)

Being Thankful

This week (okay, just Monday!!), Anna and I did some special projects. We had a Bible story at breakfast and we talked about being thankful and some things we're thankful for. Then we made a "thank you" card for someone. The verse I wanted her to learn this week was Psalm 107:1. I figured it was easy enough for her to learn in a whole week. Yeah, she had it down in 2 days! :) There is nothing that warms my heart more than hearing my sweet daughter recite a Bible verse! Also, throughout the rest of the week we kept talking about being thankful and as we played outside or read books or whatever, I asked her to point out things she was thankful God has given us.
