Fun in the...SNOW!

Today, the wind finally quit so the kids got to play in the snow!!! Jacob was ECSTATIC! As soon as he woke up from his nap, I asked if he wanted to go play in the snow. He said (well, yelled is more accurate!) "Yeah!!!" and went straight to the door. As soon as his boots (THANK YOU Kim, for letting us borrow them! They're perfect!) were on, he wanted OUT! So as soon as I got him dressed, I let him outside. He went straight to the closest pile and plopped down and started eating! haha

Mmmmm...tasty!

But once Anna got out there, he saw how fun it was to run around in the snow instead of just eating it! :)

Or better yet, eating it and playing in it!!!

Big sister...she knows all the great things to do in the snow! SNOW ANGELS!!

Any undisturbed spot of snow, she would yell and run to make a snow angel. She said "Mama, you're going to have all sorts of snow angels!"

He still thinks eating snow is the best.

Anna saw the snow covered sand box and said "HEY! I wanna go slide down that hill!!" Poor Kansas girl...don't tell Daddy she thinks that's a hill...she probably thinks a real hill is a mountain!

She's had enough....Mama, it's cooooooold! By the time the sun started setting, it started getting pretty chilly. And their gloves weren't exactly "playing in the snow" gloves!

Yesterday, the kids "helped" me make cookies for Seth's birthday supper. This was the first time Jacob had been awake during cookie-making and he was delighted to be in on it!! He kept saying "more! more!" I was lucky to get 3 dozen out of the 6 dozen cookie recipe!!

Anna's an old pro at licking the beaters! :)

I knew they were too quiet for too long!!! I'd let Anna play with the tub of water in the bathroom and I knew Jacob was in there with her but I had no idea this is what they were doing! Jacob does NOT like having his hair combed, but he was letting her comb it for like 5 minutes! He was having a grand ol' time getting soaked from head to toe! And Anna was helping by fixing his hair...because of course she had to get his hair wet to comb it! He had water dripping down his face. But he didn't care one bit. Of course, it wasn't long after I took these pictures that he decided to dump the whole tub out. ON THE FLOOR! Oh well. It'll dry. They had fun! :)

Just Because My Kids Are Cute :D

But then, I'm biased! Just a few pics of random things we've been doing. And a new favorite of Jacob's...

I can't even remember what she was doing, but I know she said "Take my picture Mommy!!" I just have to say God created one of a kind with this precious girl. She is such a sweet and sensitive child, yet can be so very stubborn (all from her Daddy! ;)) and defiant (very rarely, though). And she's a hoot! She discovered some 'new' cowboy boots, that are still a bit big, but she loves them. We were walking through the back yard and she said "I'm a girl cowboy!" Another time, she said "Heeey! The grass doesn't tickle my feet because I'm wearin' my cowboy boots!!!"

He, for whatever reason, LOVES sitting in the grocery cart like this. It's so odd, but then...he's so odd! haha I need to put the video of him and the bucket on his head. He's so special, my boy. :)

I asked him "Jacob, did you eat dirt again?" This was his answer. I think Aunt Joyce was right...he could charm the socks right off you! ;)

During a break in the stormy weather (actually right before a big ol' storm), we took a walk to get ice cream and play at the lake. Jacob loves eating his ice cream all by himself and he made quite a mess. He had fun watching Anna play and even tried a little himself. This particular playground was little 'old' for him. We fed the ducks, but again...Jacob was scared silly of the little ducks (had there been a horse nearby he would have been delighted!).

It's been a while since Anna's painted, but she's always enjoyed it quite a bit. She insisted that we mail her paintings she made to Papa & Binga (notice the 'name' she painted...she does amazingly well on her letters by herself). She wrote both their names on each painting and then went to the post office and bought a stamp and put the envelope through the slot. And then asked every day (every few hours, actually!) if Papa & Binga had gotten their painting yet! She was VERY EXCITED to find out tonight that they got them today!!!

I was shocked at how well Jacob did and how much he liked painting! I have to hide the paint...otherwise he begs to paint all the time! He makes quite a mess, but he really has fun! He sent a painting to Papa & Binga, too.

Lots of fun at Papa's

Here are some pictures of the kids having fun at Papa & Binga's house!

This cradle was mine...my grandpa made it for me when I was about 9 yrs. old. It has my name on the front of it and it rocks. Anna absolutely loves it. She sits and rocks and sings her babies to sleep. Shhh!! My babies are sleeping! :)

And then there's the trucks for Jacob! He discovered he could ride this one! The other truck has an enclosed trailer with 2 cars. He loves them.

THE chalkboard :) This used to be in our church back home. It had a map and pins where the missionaries we supported were living. It was there as long as I can remember. When the church closed, Dad brought it up here, took the map out, and put a bunch of family pictures in it. It hung in the family room until recently when they painted and re-arranged. Now it's a chalkboard! Anna and Jacob both love drawing on it. And I've only caught Jacob eating the chalk once...huge improvement! (He's always eating Anna's sidewalk chalk at home...like taking chunks out of it! It's so gross. I can't imagine why he would like it and keep doing it!?)

Jacob found Binga's bracelet and thought it was so much fun. Kaedyn (I think?) made it for her...it says "Binga" on it :)

He could sit for a very long time, pushing the button over and over and over again. It plays "I'm a Little Tea Pot"...it gets pretty annoying after about 10 seconds. ha Good thing it stays in the basement!!
