Moving Video

A very moving tribute to soldiers by Oliver North. It's about 5 minutes long and worth every second of watching. Thank you seems an insufficient word to say to our soldiers...

Jack-in-the-Box

We're back in Iowa this week for a MEGA garage sale this weekend. I'll post pictures later. It's insane (Cara, you won't believe it...well, maybe you will!). Anyway, the kids were never happier to get out of the car--as always. They found a Jack-in-the-Box toy and this is what they thought about it. Keep the volume down...Jacob gets a little shrill! :)

He's Our Special Boy

I've said it before and I'll say it again....Jacob is "special". He never gives us a dull moment and he is a stinker! For some reason, he thinks it's just hilarious to put this bucket over his head. This time (several weeks ago), he actually tried walking a bit. He barely touches a toy cooking pot with his toe and he says, plain as day, "Oww!" Such a goofy kid. I have no idea where he gets that!

Video

Here's a montage of random things. The kids decided Sunday night that they didn't need to sleep, so they were up really late and being very silly. And some other videos that I can't remember! haha I'm tired :)

New Word & Playin' in the Rain

Here's the video. You have to listen carefully for his new word! :) And it started raining this afternoon, so when Papa came home, they played in the rain! I'll have to post some pictures later...Papa & Anna RAN to the mailbox!
They're having fun...as always!

Insert Your Own Title!

I'm not feeling creative, thus the title! haha I haven't even taken hardly any pictures recently! But here are a couple videos. You might want to make sure your speakers are turned down...Jacob gets a little bit loud! :)
I don't know if it's his 3 teeth still trying to come in or what, but the last several days he's been in a mood. Today, he cried for a straight hour after he woke up (way too soon) from his nap. He didn't want me to hold him, he didn't want a drink, he didn't want anything to eat, he didn't want any toys. I finally put Dora on and he settled down. For a bit anyway! Oh, and their nap today...it took them AN HOUR to settle down and sleep! If it was up to Anna, they'd never get caught messing around b/c she's really quiet. Jacob, though...he just squeals and yells "nnnn...Anna!" and gets them caught! haha So I go in there to tell them to be quiet and I find the lamp on & Anna IN the crib along with half their toys! And Jacob was stinky. So I took Anna and the toys out, changed the diaper, and got them back in their own beds. But Jacob keeps squealing. This time Anna was up..."I had to put my purse away" ???? They finally go to sleep, but Jacob wakes up less than an hour later.
The other thing that Jacob LOVES is this Veggie Tales sing-along CD we have. And he's figured out if he hits opens and closes the drive (it's in the desktop), he can start the music all by himself! And if it comes to a slow song, he'll stop it. Stinker! He stands in that same spot and "dances". It's really funny (when he's not screaming for more).Anyway, it's been fun around here. But hey! At least we still have hot water!! :)

This is what happens...

...when Papa & Binga come to town!
There are several videos put together...the first one is before they got here. In case you can't understand Anna, she's telling Jacob that "Papa & Binga are coming on Friday! and then it will be Ben & Karin's wedding!" Next comes several snippets of Anna's non-stop talking after they got here! She was going on and on about everything. First the story of the 3 little pigs (Dora version!), then the middle of a conversation about how Anna could stay home with Jacob and Mama & Daddy could go to Papa's house for the week. So she has to explain why she can't take care of Jacob by herself. And then the booger. Then bed was mentioned, so she asked Papa to play hide and seek (and some other games)! CRAZY girl :)

Friends

Yesterday, the other Jake and Anna came over to play! It's been a long time...between sick kids and spring break and traveling. It was so much fun. They are such good kids...I told Kim the only time it felt like I had 2 extra kids was when I had to fix 4 plates for lunch instead of 2! Jake and big Anna get along really well and had so much fun playing. Baby Anna just hung out and watched all the action for a while then she decided to join in. Jacob just thought it was funny to watch them run around!
---------------------------------------------------------
This is a video of all four of them putting some little tractor/truck puzzles together. Anna decided Jake needed some encouragement, I guess...

I think she's smiled at me twice in her life! She's really a sweetie, but I can't get her to crack a smile!!

Intently (or maybe bored??) watching the big kids put the puzzles together.

I just love this one of baby Anna...notice she's almost smiling, but she's NOT looking at me! :)

------------------------------------------------

This afternoon, I finally got an appointment for Jacob's long over-due haircut! I'm still shocked every time at how much of a difference it makes. He just looks so much older. Still ornery, though!

A little Dennis the Menace cowlick up front ;)

We call him Buddha Belly...you can see why :)

Video

Anna loves popsicles. And we ran out. Uh oh! Yesterday, Aaron promised they would go to the store and get one. Well, time slipped away and the store closed. So at bath time, when she was dragging her feet, I might have bribed her with the promise of a posicle. ahem Sooo after her bath, Aaron ran over to CMart and gotItalic her a HUGE popsicle. The problem? Jacob is old enough now to understand that sister is getting something and he's not! Whoops!!! Man, the look on his face when he saw Aaron give Anna that popsicle. When he realized that there was nothing else for HIM, he got a little sad. So Daddy saved the day and dished up some ice cream! Anna was also nice enough to share her popsicle. Probably not the best bedtime snack, but oh well! :)

Piano Man

Mom bought this piano for like $5 when Anna was a baby. Jacob LOVES it. Anna hated it, by the way! It scared her. She played with it a little when she was Jacob's age, but not nearly as much as he does. In fact, he plays it so much that he knows when the little song is about end! He heads back to the piano right before the song ends. Aaron was just saying tonight how much he's changed in the even the last couple weeks. I think it's b/c he's mostly walking all the time and he's starting to make more noise (though still not much!)--and facial expressions, as you can see in the video :)

(there's also a video of him playing with the magnets on the washer and Anna & Jacob playing peek-a-boo)

Video??

I wanted to test out the new video feature on my camera...I've never done a video on here before...:)

This is my precious daughter being SILLY in the tub (I have no idea what she's talking about--hot dog game?? She was just pouring water on the ledge, but what an imagination she has!! I love it!)

Don't forget to pause the blog music before you play the video!

Help!

How do you post a video (like from YouTube) on here??? It says I have to attach a file of the video, but I can't find anywhere on YouTube where I can save the video!
