The Beauty of our World

Here are a few pictures of the gorgeous trees Mom & Dad have in their backyard...well, mostly just the one. Its leaves turn the most beautiful red I've ever seen.

I've had this song stuck in my head today--an old hymn "For the Beauty of the Earth" (click the link to hear the music)

For the beauty of the Earth

For the glory of the skies

For the love which from our birth

Over and around us lies.

Lord of all, to Thee we raise,

This our hymn of grateful praise.

For the beauty of each hour,

Of the day and of the night,

Hill and vale, and tree and flower,

Sun and moon, and stars of light.

Lord of all, to Thee we raise,

This our hymn of grateful praise

For the joy of ear and eye,

For the heart, the mind's delight,

For the mystic harmony

Linking sense to sound and sight.

There are a few more verses, but those ones really speak to the beauty we see in this season. Go outside and enjoy the beauty that God has graciously given us! :)

I love autumn. Love driving to see the beautiful fall colors and if the air is crisp, it makes it even better!!

Randall and I stopped at a garage sale up here last fall. The colors were spectacular and the air was crisp....where we stopped had a large amount of pine trees planted. So it give it the pine smell too. I honestly thought I was in Colorado. I told Randall I wanted to move to that area....ha. He didn't agree. I suppose the price of the homes had a little to do with that. Wonder if they would mind if I just sat in the front yard from time to time to get that Colorado effect again.
